Departure point: from the parking lot, take the jardin du vieux pré path, then turn left into the village to join a sunken path. The Saint-Dégan Ecomuseum lets you discover the daily life of the Pays d'Auray in days gone by, the activities of different generations, their close links with the landscape, nature, festivals and customs. Visit furnished houses, thatched cottage (17th century), longère (19th century) and its outbuildings (information on 02 97 57 66 00). Continue along the undergrowth path that runs alongside a small stream before climbing up on the left after the large stone.

Step by step:

1) At the top, go straight ahead to join a large track, an old Roman road, which you take on the left.

2) To visit the Chapelle Saint-Quirin, turn right at the crossroads with the road, then left at the village of Saint-Guérin. This 17th-century chapel features a classical altarpiece attributed to a Lavallois master. Constructed of tufa and Maine marble, this masterpiece is considered one of the finest altarpieces in Morbihan. In the past, the chapel was very popular. Saint Quirin was invoked to help children walk (open daily from June to September). Take the dirt track to the right of the chapel to reach the healing fountain. Associated with the chapel, the Saint-Quirin fountain was reputed to cure various ailments. Retrace your steps and turn right down the wide track to the Roman bridge at Kerfroud.

3) Retrace your steps for 100 m, then turn right up the path lined with stone walls. After 200 m, take the steep left-hand path which continues into a superb sunken lane.

4) At the road, turn left to Kerguéro, pass the water tower and turn right into rue du Moulin d'Estaing.

5) After the village, turn left onto the forest track and continue straight ahead. Descend to the banks of the Loc'h, then continue through moorland and undergrowth. Drive round the Saint-Dégan conservatory orchard, a departmental site classified as a Sensitive Natural Area. This orchard contributes to the preservation and promotion of Breton fruit tree species and varieties. It is home to over 200 varieties of fruit trees (mainly apples, plums and pears), all of which are now protected.

6) Join a tarmac track, go straight ahead until you reach a road. Turn left, then right 50 m further on to reach the parking lot.
