Orange markings - all year round Camors state forest (650 ha), Petit Bois site, Saint-Gobrien chapel and fountain, Korrigans stream and washhouses: there's a lot to discover here.
Departure: Cross the road. Walk along the pond below the Petit Bois hall to the small footbridge. Le Petit Bois is a park dedicated to relaxation, leisure and sports, with a pond for fishing, picnic areas, a sports trail and an accrobranche park. Cross the footbridge and immediately turn right onto a path through the woods. After a descent, turn right along the Ruisseau de la Motte. Go straight on, passing the Moulin de la Motte and some magnificent rocks. Near the Moulin de la Motte pond are the remains of several buildings making up the medieval château de Comorre, situated on a barred spur (a rocky promontory whose isthmus has been cut by an entrenchment).
Step by step:
1) Turn right (wooden footbridge), follow the path slightly uphill. Continue on a wide track, cross the road and follow the narrow path through the woods near the Chapelle Saint-Gobrien. Associated with a devotional fountain, Chapelle St-Gobrien was remodeled in the 16th century. See the two pointed-arched doors crowned by a torus, a window decorated with quatrefoil and clover motifs, and the slate-covered bell tower topped by a wrought-iron cross. Locally invoked to promote clement weather, St. Gobrien is also prayed to for young children. At the end of the wood, turn right along the D768 (caution: busy road). After 100 m, cross the road and follow the field. Follow the path to the intersection with a small road. Turn left onto this road. Pass through Kerniel and its cider mill, turn right along the road and then right again to pass the wash-house and Saint-Jean fountain. Follow a wide track up to the intersection with a small road. Turn right on this road.
2) After 200 m, turn left down to the ruisseau des Korrigans. A small valley shelters this stream, which meanders between the high rocks of the forest. This "magical" landscape invites the imagination of Breton legends. Follow it for 2 km. After passing through a tunnel and several small footbridges, reach the D779 at Pont Neuf.
3) Turn left, cross the D779 and turn right up the small road to rue des Sabotiers. Turn left into this street. After 100 m, turn right onto the D768. Cross the road. Enter the woods, follow the footpath past the wash-house and the Larrons fountain. Go straight ahead and return to the starting point.
