Détour d'Art - Chêne Bé-Er-Sant
The tree, whose name means "Saint's Tomb", is a curiosity in the Camors forest. According to legend, a republican officer was put to death here by Chouans during the French Revolution. The soldier is said to have been buried on the spot, and so this is the grave of the officer considered a saint. At the foot of this large oak, you can see a tangle of shoes, left by people who came to make a special request to the saint.
