Everyone who has met them agrees: Les Frères Pablof have a wonderful sense of hospitality. With them, you immediately feel at home. In fact, for their new project, they looked at what it means to "live at home". They went out to meet local residents, from the sea to the mountains, from the city to the countryside. From these testimonies, they concocted a modest, funny and very human theater, where cinema is cobbled together live, where we come across a few Playmobil and other construction site helmets.
Lucie, Sarah, Jean-Louis and many others tell their stories in their house, their apartment, their neighborhood, their country. Some live in their bedrooms, others in their walls, their landscapes, their dreams, others in friendship, still others in their homes rather than in their real homes.
Que notre joie demeure! is a hamlet of shows, to be visited without taking off your shoes. A journey of four propositions combining neighborhood stories, sound and video clips, installation, object and paper theater to peek through windows, listen behind doors and meet neighbors.
You'll be invited to move from one short show to another: in small groups, you'll pass through dreamed-about or suffered-about habitats (Des châteaux en Espagne); sometimes healing refuges (Ma maison prend toutes les positions); very personal ways of inhabiting landscapes or friendship (Gratte-ciel). At the center, the Brothers have of course planned a neighbors' party, to raise a glass or eat a few chips together - as we were saying, a sense of welcome!
