Richard III is the meteoric rise and spectacular fall of a monster: Richard of Gloucester. This deformed, incomplete being will do anything to achieve his ends and take the throne of England. This prodigious tactician and brilliant manipulator excels in the struggle for influence and the game of power. He's always one step ahead! But once up there, as Richard III, he's consumed by madness and fear. "The White Boar" will have to face up to his demons... and the revolt that's brewing!
In this adaptation by Yoann Pencolé, we discover a lone Richard in the midst of a court of human-sized puppets, set in motion by 3 dancer-puppeteers. Richard takes control not only of the characters, but also of the dancer-puppeteers, becoming the absolute master on stage. A collective awakening occurs, through a liberating dance. Will it lead to the overthrow of the tyrant and the establishment of new rules? Come and rediscover William Shakespeare's timeless masterpiece.
