Festival Méliscènes: Vent Debout show

As part of the 24th edition of the Festival de marionnettes et de théâtre d'objets, this show is presented by the Des Fourmis dans la lanterne company:
A little girl's life is turned upside down when she makes the strange discovery of a world very different from her own. A world teeming with words, sounds, inscriptions and drawings of all kinds. It's a tsunami of emotions, both frightening and exciting, that washes over her, who until then had known only a world of silence. She tries to understand what it is that separates her from this attractive world, which everyone around her seems to ignore. Where she lives, nothing can resist the wind. A powerful, capricious, omnipresent wind that catches up with her and inevitably takes her back to where she came from. Where does this mysterious wind come from? She discovers that it's their thoughts, their voices and their freedoms that are blowing away, and begins a battle against these powerful gusts. The story of this little girl takes the form of a fable for young and old, inspired by those countries silenced by censorship.

This visual, wordless show is inspired by countries where people are silenced by censorship. It's about freedom of expression, commitment and struggle. A poetic escape, for puppets in a paper universe. A lovely, delicate fable about the weight of censorship.
