Méliscènes Festival: Path of metaphors
As part of the 24th edition of the Méliscènes puppet and object theater festival, the Singe Diesel company and Juan Perez Escala present "Chemin des métaphores". It features tabletop puppets and automata.
"It takes time to become young", said Picasso. Do we adults need to relearn how to be children? Chemin des métaphores invites spectators to take the time to dream and marvel. Juan Perez Escala, renowned puppeteer, jack-of-all-trades and self-taught, recounts the initiatory journey of an old man who, through encounters and adventures, learns to look at the world with fresh eyes. Thanks to a clever stage set-up reminiscent of a derelict funfair, the audience embarks on a magical, poetic journey of contemplation. Using characters that seem to have stepped out of a children's book, the artist creates a wonderful ode to childhood and imagination.
