Western Australia is the largest state in the world, with a paradisiacal coastline and the largest expanses of desert punctuated by gold and iron mines. Then in the footsteps of the gold prospectors of Kalgoorlie, the largest gold mine on the south-west coast, and Perth, the world's most isolated modern capital.

And finally, on the other side of the world, Tasmania, the smallest green and hilly state with the world's last primary temperate rainforest and tallest trees, and a rare and well-preserved animal treasure trove: potoroo, pademelon, wombat, dasyurus and the famous devil!
