Trinity Chapel

Place Castil
56400 Plumergat
Plumergat is one of Brittany's earliest parishes, created around the 6th century when Bretons from the Isle of Brittany (now Great Britain) immigrated to Armorique (now Brittany). Christianity has left its mark on the commune, which still boasts 11 churches and chapels. In fact, it's nicknamed "the town of 3 steeples", in reference to the three religious buildings located here. The 15th-century Chapelle de la Trinité is a fine example of the flamboyant style. Its eaves and sablières abound with sculptures of various motifs: animals, sometimes in strange poses or playing the bagpipes, fantastic characters and monsters... Also worth a visit in the village:- Saint-Thuriau church, with its arcades and Romanesque capitals;- the only stele in Brittany to bear Gallic inscriptions, dating from the 1st century. Open from July 6 to September 20, 2020, daily, 2:30 pm to 6 pm. Open on Tuesdays from 2.30pm to 6pm from July 7 to September 15, 2020.
