Erdeven - MTB track - The dune cordon

Route n°5 vert From the Atlantic coast to the Erdeven forest.

Departure point: This trail starts from the parking lot at the complexe sportif du grand large, rue du Grand Large, Erdeven.

Step by step:
1) Follow the signs to the coast and the Roche Sèche site, passing through several charming villages. Observe the remains of the Atlantic Wall dating from the Second World War: in addition to the bunkers, winter storms regularly uncover other defensive elements on the beach that were previously buried under the sand (Belgian door, tetrahedron, piece of rail...). Follow the ocean and its dunes to the Barre d'Etel, a constantly shifting sandbar at the mouth of the Ria. It's the underwater continuation of the Penthièvre to Gâvres dune belt, subject to the influence of winds and tidal currents.

2) Arrive in Etel and continue along the paths and tracks of Erdeven, returning to the town via the forest.
