Part 1: Walk on by for all
From 8 years - 1h

Erwan Keravec, tireless explorer of bagpipe possibilities, continues his ambition to bring together traditional Breton instruments and contemporary music.

For his new project, he brings together eight seasoned pipers to breathe new life into Philip Glass's famous rhythmic superimpositions. He renews listening to the American composer's four short pieces from 1969, the First Classics, all of which have in common the repetition of simple musical elements that become more complex as the piece progresses. The powerful, modulated breaths of the instruments add a new layer of interpretation to this birth of minimalist music.

The ensemble of eight pipers, playing biniou, bagpipes and bombarde, will make these emblematic pieces resonate today. An unprecedented revelation of the maximum intensity of minimal music.

In the first part, discover the piece Walk on by for all, written by the Japanese composer and performer Otomo Yoshihide for the Sonneurs quartet in 2019, and co-created with the blowing musicians of the Auray music school and the Kevrenn Alre.
