Jazz concert with Avishai Cohen Quartet
Tel Aviv-born trumpeter Avishai Cohen, not to be confused with his double-bass compatriot of the same name, first made a name for himself with his unparalleled virtuosity on the instrument. Over the years, he has refined his approach to the point of achieving a form of quintessential musical truth, which is fully expressed on his recent albums, including his new one (due for release in September 2024).
Surrounded by a faithful quartet, marked in particular by his unfailing complicity with pianist Yonathan Avishai, he reveals an art of "less is more" where each note has its weight and its place, inhabited by a moving lyricism on the edge of silence.
