In this new creation, Alice Zeniter takes her inspiration from Jack London's novel "Martin Eden", with the desire to tell the story of a life derailed by the encounter of love and writing; that of Edène, a poor young woman who, after her first foray into a bourgeois family, aspires to achieve the beauty she saw there, that of books and music, but also that of Rose, the Morse's daughter. So Edène wants to write a masterpiece! But is it possible to create, to produce beauty or intelligent thought, when you sell your labor power under exhausting conditions?
The stage becomes a place of assembly-line work, of visions of writing, but also the ring in which a cruel class struggle is waged at the very heart of the love relationship.
