Comrade Mioussov is an honest civil servant who, in order to spend a Sunday in peace, has taken refuge in a rest home, "The Sunflowers". Zaïtsev, who wants to get him to sign a voucher for some paint, comes to ask him again, and he is led (as references are required to let him in) to pass himself off as the husband of the famous Klava Igniatiouk, an agricultural engineer.
