Two theater companies from the Pays d'Auray, Les Arts et les Autres and Les Tréteaux Trinitains, come together for an evening on the Athéna stage to present two plays that question the world around us.

Sadness and joy in the life of a giraffe: Giraffe is a 9-year-old girl. Her mother gave her the name because she's tall. Giraffe has an exposé to do on the life of giraffes, but since her dad has been out of work, she can no longer watch the Discovery Channel... So, like Candide, she runs away with her teddy bear and goes from encounter to encounter in the streets of crisis-ridden Lisbon, in search of the money needed to pay the subscription to the TV channel. Through this initiatory journey, Tiago Rodrigues places himself at children's level to question the economic and social system that too often forgets them, in a modern tale that is at once funny, intelligent and absurd... like the world around us.

Une heure de tranquillité: Michel is a jazz fan. One day, he unearths an unobtainable record he's been dreaming of for years. Just as he's about to listen to it, he's assailed by his wife, child, plumber and neighbor. Ready to do anything to get some peace and quiet, and above all to listen to his record, Michel lies, fakes and evades. An absurd farce about the madness of a seemingly ordinary man.
