Semaine du Golfe 2025 - Houat

13th edition: a maritime heritage and culture event open to the international scene, a "splintered" event involving all the natural sites of the "Little Sea" (Mor Bihan in Breton). A week of sea festivals, music and song.

Over a thousand traditional and classic boats, divided into 10 coherent and identifiable flotillas, sail from port to port and anchorage to anchorage. The crews maneuver in full view of the public on routes that change daily according to the tides and current reversals.
Each flotilla is supervised by volunteers from the Gulf's nautical clubs and associations, who regulate movements on the water with skill and good humor.

At mid-day or evening stopovers, other local associations provide hospitality and services for sailors and visitors alike.

19 associated communes :
Arradon - Arzon - Auray - Baden - Crac'h - Île aux Moines - Île d'Arz - Larmor-Baden - Le Bono - Le Hézo - Locmariaquer - Plougoumelen - Sarzeau - Séné -Saint-Armel - Saint-Gildas de Rhuys - Vannes . New: Houat and Hoedic.

On the Houat program on May 29: 90 boats will leave the Golfe du Morbihan, i.e. 4 flotillas of 70 boats, and some 15 boats between 40 and 50 meters long, including Eric Tabarly's Pen Duick and the Phoenix, which is usually based in Quiberon!
Around forty of these boats will remain at anchor in the Port de St Gildas: a festive stopover with a meal and fest noz hosted by the Kevrenn Alré, followed by a DJ dance party.

Other highlights:

Monday afternoon, May 26 - Opening parade.

A nautical parade opens the Semaine du Golfe on Monday: passing through the Port-Navalo lighthouse, the parade gets underway in the late afternoon. All the boats present will join the Grands Voiliers flotilla off Méaban, then take to the Grand Chenal to accompany them as they enter the Gulf.

Saturday afternoon, May 31 - Grand Parade

This is the high point of the event, and the real "grand nautical spectacle"! The parade brings together all the flotillas and tall ships, which until now have sailed separately, for a majestic sail from Quiberon Bay to the heart of the Gulf.
At the end of the morning, with the ebb tide, the boats converge on the exit of the Gulf, taking up position across the Méabans, and when the current reversal is well established, they enter the gully between Locmariaquer and Port Navalo. The parade fleet, exclusively reserved for boats registered for the "Semaine du Golfe", is structured into 4 groups, each flanked by 2 spectacular yachts, one opening the route and serving as a landmark for the smaller boats, the other closing the way.
