The 15/11/2024
Evening screening: Child protection
Screening of "Théret N° 487" - Child protection, justice and minors evening
At a time when Le Monde headlines one of its articles "L'aide sociale à l'enfance n'a jamais si mal porté son nom" ("Child welfare has never been so badly named") on the subject of the trial of the placement of children from the Nord region in foster families, Quai des Dunes invites you to an evening of reflection and debate on the theme of child protection and juvenile justice.
In the first part of the evening, we'll be screening Julien Hillion's film Théret N°487, which traces the life of François-Henri Théret, born in Paris at the end of the 19th century, a poor street urchin who was sent to the Belle-Ile-en-Mer reformatory several times before being sent to prison.
His story raises the whole question of how to deal with juvenile delinquents.
In the second half of the evening, we invite you to reflect and exchange views on this issue and, more broadly, on child protection, in the presence of professionals (Protection Judiciaire de la Jeunesse, foster care, etc.).
Admission charge. Reservations on the cinema website.
