Perched on the seventh floor of an office building of which nothing remains but a small platform overlooking a ruined, depopulated world, the superior and his assistant try to carry on working, unable to let go of the roles that forged their identities. All around them, scaffolding is being erected for a hypothetical reconstruction, in which nobody believes. Power games and humiliation, jealousy, resentment, bad faith: the most miserable of human failings have withstood the cataclysm.
