Tumulus Saint Michel in Carnac
This tumulus, of imposing proportions (12 metres high, 125 metres long and 60 metres wide), was built around 4500 BC. At its summit stands a chapel dedicated to St. Michel, a 16th-century calvary and an orientation table, allowing visitors to enjoy a landscape that stretches as far as the eye can see: the Bay and Presqu'île de Quiberon, Belle-Ile-en-Mer, the Presqu'île de Rhuys... The objects discovered during the excavations are on display at the Musée de Préhistoire de Carnac (Centre Ville).
